I have not notice any difference on the air smell as previous air cleaners did.

The media could not be loaded.  Overall, installation was pretty easy but there were a couple of times where the provided references made me scratch my head.I started by scanning the QR code right there in the box. The page that is linked seems to be for a different model with a different list of items in the box and installation steps.Whatever, confusing, but I just used the included instructions and moved on.I mounted this in an upflow closet installation, which is supported per the instructions. Moreso, the instructions indicate that it should ship in the correct configuration for this, as is shown in attached images. However, mine came so that the view port is 180° from this position. If I install so that the airflow goes into the V as shown, then I end up with the view port on the bottom. So, ok weird, but just flip it, right? Nope. The 4 screws are non-reversible flat heads (only grip in one direction, slides off the other way. See video. So I really have no clue how this is even considered possible per the instructions. Could I have probably mangled these with vice grips to get them out? Maybe. But the instructions sure don’t say that it would be necessary to do so, and I am hesitant to.Initial impression: I don’t know. I’m on the fence. If I notice an improvement in air quality even to a small extent I will up the star rating. Until then, will have to wait and see.

Pro:The bulb and ballast are good. It was easy to mount and suits it’s purposeCon:It included a 1 1/2 inch hole saw in the package, but did not include the Arbor to attach the saw to a drill. I would have saved money by returning the hole package and just buying a 30 watt UV light without the additional BS. (the Arbor I bought was $25)This must have been a recent change for the manufacturer their included documentation showed the hole saw with arbor in several pictures/diagrams, but what was packaged with the product didn’t include. Always Shop carefully

UPDATE: September 1, 2022Returned the Plus Version. Now shopping for replacement UV light only. I just could not justify the additional cost of the Plus when I was not detecting any odor removal whatsoever. It is unfortunate because I really like the design and the 10 year warranty of this product.I purchase this product based on its claim to help rid home of odors and to help clean HVAC evaporator coils of odor causing mold and bacteria. I am not questioning the science behind the use of UV lights to fight germs, mold, etc., however, the carbon filter included with this unit and its claim to absorb odors raises doubts in my mind.First, let me say installation could not be any easier as long as you have the rights tools. I resorted to using a jig saw with a metal cutting blade after tin snips failed. It also helps to have some metal HVAC tape (not duct tape) to help seal rough cut edges of your ductwork.I installed my unit in the supply duct directly over the Evap Coil on August 5, 2022 and as of the writing of this review I have noticed no reduction in odors or increase in indoor air quality. The UV lights may or may not be fighting mold and bacteria on the coil itself but there is no way to know for sure since there has been no increase in air quality or removal of odors. The carbon filter is supposed remove odors from the air, however, the vast majority of the air moving through the plenum does not pass through the carbon filter so I am unsure how it could be removing any odors from it.Honestly, I am on the verge of returning this unit and buying the version without the carbon filter.

Easy to install on my hvac unit. I don’t know why they even send the holesaw if they aren’t going to send the bit part. Other than that product seems to be working.

We had 2 of an earlier version of these Air+Health UV-C lamp units in our residential HVAC system since ~2002, their ballasts both finally died, fortunately the new ballast bases are backwards-compatible. The OEM bulbs (#46444900, EPA #59662-NC-1) are nominally rated to last 16.5 months (24,000hrs), and are a relatively powerful 30W, providing a specified intensity of 62 μW/cm²@1m / 7874 μW/cm²@1in / 21,948 μW/cm²@0in. It’s best to mount these lights just “downstream” from the HVAC chiller (on the supply air side) to help keep the coils pathogen-free; also note that some HVAC air filters (on the return air side) can be damaged by exposure to intense UV-C light. There are other “compatible” 4-pin UV-C bulbs available that are only 5W or 9W and work poorly or not at all with these 30W Air+Health ballast bases, buyer beware (their lower prices are “too good to be true”). Effectiveness of killing airborne pathogens is directly proportional to their cumulative UV-C exposure, less powerful bulbs might cost less, but they are much less effective. Leaving your HVAC system on “Circulate” with a low fan speed increases UV-C exposure of airborne pathogens, increasing lamp effectiveness.

It was a simple install and seems to be working as expected. It would have been better if there was a clear lens to cover the view hole so its not blowing air through it. That’s why I only gave it 4 stars…

I had my AC tune up and the company wanted to install something similar to this for 2k. I found this identical unit and installed it myself. Very easy to install and i was glad to see when i cut the hold mold on the coil pan. I hope this thing does its job and kills all of the mold. I doubt that it will actually scrub the air or filter it since it is only 4 inches inside a 2 foot duct. All in all even if just the light works i will be happy.
