   These filters arrived shrink wrapped, perfect for storage since I doubt many people use the exact number of a certain size that are in a package. We have three different sizes in our house. I like having backups on hand.I didn’t know what MERV rating meant until recently: minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV) rating measures how effectively the filter stops dust and other contaminants from passing through the filter and into your HVAC system. The higher the number, the smaller the particles that the filter will not allow to pass.We have five cats and eight litter boxes in our house. That’s a whole lot of fur wafting around, and a tremendous amount of dust from the litter. I read that if you get over ambitious in your MERV choice, you can damage your system or at best cause it to work harder than it should due to its airflow being impeded. My feeling on these after using them for several weeks is that they’re just right for homes, and especially homes with pets.They have the same directional arrows that all the air filters I’ve ever used have, and they fit perfectly. And they’re made in the US, too!I have significantly less dust on my furniture. My electric bill hasn’t gone up, so my systems efficiency hasn’t been compromised. Since there’s less dust on the furniture, we have to be breathing less contaminants, and that can only be a good thing.Amazingly, they’re less expensive than what we’ve been paying for years at one of the big box home improvement stores. I have a new favorite air filter.

   These are high quality air filters and I’m so happy I got these! Saved a bunch of money by getting this pack of 5 filters. Air quality seems to be fresh with them, they seem to be doing great. Definitely recommend!

   These BNX MERV 11 air filters are seriously great quality air filters. Although the 5-pack will last me roughly 5 months, I do recommend going with a higher count to maximize your value. Regardless, the filters will arrive consistently high quality and ready to go in your filter housing. My 14x20x1 filters fit mine great, and add a noticeably better difference in air quality, especially for those of us sensitive to hay, mold and pet dander. Although the packaging recommends changing your filter every 3 months, I recommend changing 1″ filters every month for best results. Great filter!

   I ordered this set of five MERV 11 14x20x1 filters to see if they would improve airflow in the house. I read that as the MERV level goes up, airflow may be reduced. We have been using MERV 13 filters, but airflow seems to be a little bit impeded, so I got these MERV 11 filters to see how airflow is impacted. We need as much help from our A/C as we can get against the southern summer temperatures. So far, installing the filters was simple, and the fit was perfect. As expected, these filters are just slightly thinner than the MERV 13 filters we have been using but that is by design. The cardboard frame for these filters is a little bit thinner and less sturdy than the name brand filters we are accustomed to using, but that is of no consequence to performance, and the price is much better. I would recommend these filters.

   I was using a different brand, and found that they were slightly too small for my system. These BNX filters are the correct size, and fit perfectly in the holder. The photo shows the other brand (on top) is about 1/4″ smaller in length and width, so they flopped around in the holder as the blower turned on/off. The actual size of the BNX filter is 13 5/8″ x 19 3/4″. The other filters that I was using were MERV 13, but they were impeding the air flow and causing the system to struggle…my hope is that moving to MERV 11 will still provide a high level of filtration while still allowing free air flow.

   These are solid and sturdy, easy to replace. They have wire imbedded to make them sturdy and fight against airflow. These are MERV 11 which I believe will take care of much of our breathing problems here. The are great filters at a great price, as good as or better than the much more expensive ones.

   These filters are high quality, easy to install, and very sturdy. They prevent dust particles from entering the home, reducing the amount of dust you will have to deal with. I think they last longer than the lightweight cheapy filters, they definitely gather more dust.
