I used to filter water going to the dishwasher so I didn’t have to keep cleaning the debris trap in the dishwasher, which is a real chore. Got a barbed connector for each end, cut through the water feed hose, and installed with hose clamps. No leaks, and seems to be working well.

The pipe threads on the ends of the filter get crossed too easily, when installing the brass fittings, resulting in a water leak. Some time we have to use two filters to get a good one.

Our water has always had a bit of a tint, which was always more prominent coming out of the ice maker for some reason. After a couple of uses the ice is nice and clear. The first couple of batches had strong charcoal coloring, but since then has been clean and clear.
