I did not need to use these filters immediately. When I opened them this morning I was very very disappointed. The outer box was not severely damaged however the product was. These are expensive filters and I expect them to be in excellent condition. I had no choice and I had to use them. We live in California and our air filters are important to us especially nowadays. That is why I paid so much for what I thought was a good product. Buyer beware, check your product immediately when you receive it. I made the mistake of trusting 3M

Absolutely terrible product, these filters are too large and I had to crush them to fit them in, probably works fine but very difficult to install and looks horrible. This one in the picture looks better than the other one I installed but didn’t take a picture. I gave 5 stars for sturdiness because the filter is very rigid which made it even more difficult to install. Measure carefully before buying this product. Definitely recommend buying from another manufacturer, I have had much better success with other products.

I have a newer Lennox gas furnace, which unfortunately has it’s exhaust vent right in front of the filter section. Two of the filters can be slid in, but the third needs to be bent a bit to be installed. See the associated picture of pipe.I have removed and replaced the filters every 6 months, so about 3 times. The first time I removed the filters installed by the A/C people (upon unit installation), all 3 were dirty but otherwise in in good shape. The last 2 times, when I removed these 3M filters, the one that had to be bent slightly had HOLES in it.Upon further investigation, all of the filters were essentially coming apart, I can push my finger into a filter and my finger goes through it. The filter pleats just disintegrate into a powder.I can’t recommended these at all. They are advertised as being able to filter out fine particles, but certainly can’t with holes in them. And all of the filter material that disintegrates has now been blown throughout the house.
