Notice now all the filter manufacturers use their own ratings system to make it harder for the end user to compare. Filtrete uses MPR and Home Depot( at least here in AZ ) has switched all their ratings to something called FPR. If all the manufacturers were required to post the industry standard MERV rating ( from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) ), users could easily compare filters. I’ve noticed a decline in the physical quality of the filter material at the Home Depot stores. The material that used to be on their 3rd highest rated filter is now used on their highest rated filter. They’ve reduced the ratings to “Good”, “Best” and similar names supposedly to make it easier for consumers but it also makes it easier to sell inferior products ( so caveat emptor ).

We just purchased our second set of six of these Filtrete Healthy Living Ultimate Allergen Filters. We have been using them for over a year and find that they really make a difference during allergy season. We regularly change them at least every three months as recommended. This filter picks up many of the small allergen producing particles and also reduces dust. We find that buying them six at a time is also cost effective as opposed to buying single filters at the local store. Amazon shipped them very safely in a large box, so there was no crushing or damage. As evidenced by this being our second purchase, we have been very satisfied with the quality of the filters.

When I bought my house I learned of the importance of changing your furnace filter (if you have a furnace). After trying some super-cheap filters, and suffering from indoor allergies (we have cats, a small suburban farm, kids, lots of dust-makers), I tried a lower-grade Filtrete filter. My results were so noticeable, I upgraded, and now, have upgraded again. While these filters can only do so much for your indoor air (the air that actually circulates through your furnace), it really does a great job. I’m always simultaneously impressed and disgusted by how dirty they are after I pull them out. They do indicate that these filters are good for 3 months– but I normally replace them every TWO months (finding them quite dirty) to enhance my air quality further and hopefully extend the life of my furnace.

These are the highest quality filters on the market (and therefore, the best performing, but also the most expensive) that you can buy for your air handlers. Last longer than the cheaper ones and certainly do a better job, so he economics kind of even out, since you don’t have to replace them at shorter intervals. Highly recommend this product.

It does a great job filtering dust/germs that we could have breathed. We have three air returns and have installed a Filtrete each. The attached photo is a three-month job.

I’ve used Filtrete filters for over 20 years, changing every 90 days and they work fine and keep dust inside the house to a minimum.

Still we’re in great quality no damage at all wish they still had a plastic wrapper but they weren’t dirty. Would definitely get again. Arrived very quickly. Great value
